Old Business

No more information has been made available about the man taking pictures at the beach. Again, if you see any suspicious activity feel free to ask what is going on.

Glenn Freeman replaced the pole that keeps the ORV’s from getting to the beach.

Norm Sanders filled in the boat launch with more slag. He also graded the beach for us. Thank you, Norm!!! Motion was made to reimburse Norm for his fuel by Marlene Freeman, seconded, all approved.

The undersheriff, Officer Rick Miller, stopped by to help us start our Neighborhood Watch Program. Clare County has been recognized as the fastest growing Neighborhood Watch Programs in the State of Michigan. Officer Rick said he just received a $1,500 donation and he will set aside some of that for our Neighborhood Watch signs that will be posted around the neighborhood. We just need to let him know where we want them and he will have the Road Commission put them up.

Marlene Freeman mentioned that we do have cards that identify you as an association member. If anyone would like one, just let her know.

Officer Rick said that Cranberry Lake is the best group out of all the other groups in the area because we have the least amount of problems. Our crime is down to almost none.

New Business

Norm suggested putting rocks down at the beach area where the sand has washed away. Especially because we get water build up down there. Marlene Freeman made a motion to purchase up to $1000.00 for sand and rocks if it’s needed in the Spring, seconded, all approved.

Mrs. Martin asked Officer Rick about the speed limit and age limit for ATV’s. The speed limit is 25 MPH and the age limit is 16 years old. They also must be wearing a helmet. All must have an ORV sticker, unless driving on their own private property. If anyone has a concern, feel free to call Officer Rick anytime and he will take care of it.

A motion was made by Glenn Freeman to host a Clare County Neighborhood Watch party, seconded by Bruce Pierce, all approved. Officer Rick will let us know the date.

Thank you to Mr. Richardson for going back to his cabin to get some supplies for the meeting.

We want to welcome John, Katie and Ashley Pietrzak who just purchased a home in the neighborhood.

Bruce and Caroline Pierce’s granddaughter picked up a whole pail full of glass and other items from the beach area. Thank you, Brianna!

Norm Sanders put in a complaint to the County about the weed control because the weeds are not getting much better on his end. Although, Jim Thompson did think certain types of weeds are gone from his end. There have been two weed control applications. One right before July 4th, and one at the beginning of August. Judith Church, many years ago, suggested bringing in beetles to control the weeds and did not have any success.

Two trustees’ terms are expiring this year. All association members in attendance voted and the following people were nominated:

Trustee – Cathy Carlson (renewed)

Trustee – Jim Thompson (renewed)

Board Members are elected for 3 years unless offer to remain longer in their position.

A motion was made by Marlin Martin to reimburse Marlene Freeman for her expenses on the light sensors, seconded, all approved.

A motion was made by Doug Evans to reimburse Glenn Freeman for his expenses on the concrete to install the post at the beach, seconded, all approved.

It was agreed that the new Neighborhood Watch signs be installed at every entrance into the subdivision and also down at the boat launch. Glenn Freeman will let Officer Rick know.

Motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Jim Thompson, seconded, all approved. Meeting ended at 11:18am.
